MRCA advocates for the retail sector through strong representation, industry leadership activities and addresses complex policy issues that involve the Retailers in Malaysia.
As we believe in the power of networking, MRCA is constantly organizing events and activities to provide networking and socializing platforms for our Members. We also strive to provide further insights on improving productivity as well as strategies for enhancing business operations by inviting reputable and distinguished speakers.
As a well-known association in Malaysia, our events are usually attended by exalted guests from various industries, such as: retail, shopping malls, property development, banking and also from Government bodies.

Members’ meetings and regular events provide Members with relevant updates on the latest developments in the retail industry as well as opportunities for networking and socializing with fellow retailers and business partners. This way, Members can benefit from mentoring and learning opportunities, using the knowledge gained to improve their business and areas of management.
Overseas trade missions and business trips are organized to provide opportunities and exposure for our Members to explore new business potentials abroad. By participating in visiting delegations, MRCA Members will be able to promote and exchange business contacts and experiences. These trips form a part of MRCA’s long-term objectives to promote and explore business opportunities beyond the shores of Malaysia. Over the years, MRCA has organized trips to China, Taiwan, Cambodia and Vietnam and we will continue to conduct such trips to more countries.
In MRCA, we continuously strive to ensure all our Members receive sufficient knowledge and skills. As a Member of MRCA, companies are given the opportunities to promote their products / services via the various platforms such as the Malaysia Retailer magazine and weekly e-newsletter.
MRCA believes Malaysian retailers are capable of competing with the world's best in retail. We always seek to recognise outstanding Members for their contributions to the retail industry. Such recognitions are aimed to further motivate our Members to continuously improve and innovate themselves to be the top in the industry.
With the establishment of the MRCA Foundation, MRCA has started work on the social responsibility front as well. In addition to this, the MRCA Branding Education Charity Foundation provides scholarships to Members and Member staffs' children as well as other deserving candidates who have achieved excellent results for UPSR, PMR, SPM, STPM which will allow them to further their education.

In today’s fiercely-competitive market environment, competitive advantage is momentary. MRCA acts as a pool of information that offers relevant, first-hand data, statistics, and market insights of the retail industry to help Members in their businesses.
MRCA acts as a liaison between Government Ministries, Retail Businesses and stakeholders. We represent the retailer interests and views for networking with various Government authorities. MRCA maintains a healthy relationship with the Government agencies and we are always working in strengthening our bond with the Government authorities.
